2025 Mid-Year Review

Uncertainty, at home and abroad, was the constant theme

Mark Rothko, No. 12 (Red and Yellow), 1954, oil on canvas.

Reflecting on a dynamic six months, the team at Goodman Commercial is proud to present our always anticipated 2025 Mid-Year Report.

In the report you will find our take on the discourse surrounding affordability, foreign buyers, flippers, and government spending in the housing sector.

Plus:

  • Transactions and dollar volumes were down from 2024 overall, but the story is more nuanced: the suburbs had their slowest half in over 20 years, while the City of Vancouver was up from 2023.
  • New construction took the main stage, accounting for 64% of total dollar volume in the first half of the year.
  • Non-profit buyers took a step back, but perhaps only momentarily.
  • Big second half on the way: Goodman Commercial has already closed more deals in the past two months than the entire first half of the year, with much more to come!

As always, we strive to ensure our clients and readership are well-informed and ready to act. We love to hear your feedback and invite you to reach out to discuss market trends, policy changes, or explore opportunities for selling your property.
