Documentation submitted in support of rezoning includes traffic and shadow studies along with phase I and II environmental reports, with no material concerns raised.
Location
The site is conveniently located in historic Inglewood, one of Calgary’s most sought after and vibrant communities. Inglewood is home to a lively shopping and arts district; the heart of Calgary’s Music Mile with its many live entertainment venues, restaurants and breweries; and was once named Canada’s Greatest Neighbourhood by the Canadian Institute of Planners. Inglewood is Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood, with close proximity to downtown Calgary and abundant recreational amenities.
The site is located at the southwest corner of 11 Street SE and 10 Avenue SE, one block south of 9 Avenue SE, the main thoroughfare and commercial corridor, and one block north of the future Ramsay-Inglewood Green Line LRT Station. As part of the new LRT rapid transit line, the City of Calgary’s Ramsay-Inglewood Station Area Improvements project will provide public realm improvements, including the streets adjacent to this site, along with parks and pathways throughout the neighbourhoods of Inglewood and Ramsay.
