David Goodman
As the founder of the Goodman Report, David Goodman provides vision and direction for our team. He’s a zealous spokesperson and advocate for property owners and investors in the Vancouver area.

Tenacity, extensive experience and knowledge of real estate have earned David Goodman widespread recognition as a respected authority on the apartment building and development industry.

David was born in Montreal and attended Sir George Williams University before moving to British Columbia in 1971. A year later, he became active in Vancouver real estate. Awarded Top 10 Status with NRS Block Bros. nine times over a 22-year period, he was recognized as the top company salesperson in 1979. His sales excellence continues today at HQ Commercial, where he has consistently achieved number one sales status.

Always striving to enhance his craft, David pioneered in 1983 the practice of publishing an industry newsletter for multi-family building owners and investors. The Goodman Report, then a print newsletter focused on the apartment industry, has now evolved into a fully integrated, state-of-the-art email and print platform for apartment news and marketing that has positioned David and his son Mark Goodman as authorities on apartment building sales in B.C. and across Canada.

Since 1983, David has specialized in the marketing and sale of over 650 apartment buildings. His apartment clients include local owners, offshore families and institutional investors. Additionally, he has sold a number of prominent multi-family development sites to Polygon Homes, Wall Financial, Intracorp, Mosaic Homes, Bosa Properties, Solterra Development, Cressey Development, BlueSky Properties and Mayfair Properties, as well as hotels and shopping centres including Middlegate Shopping Centre.

From 1989 to 1993, David was a director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (ICI Division), serving on its Education Committee and guest-lecturing on the art of marketing apartment buildings. He’s been a guest lecturer for the Urban Development Institute and the Canadian Property Tax Association. From 2003 to 2006, he chaired the Associate Members Committee of the BC Apartment Owners and Managers Association.
